Occasionally being a bit disorganized and forgetful can actually be a good thing, like when you maybe kinda forget that you had asked for a day off this week and now it’s almost here and this means that 1) now you have a 3-day workweek and 2) you’re gonna spend your day off hearing Michelle Obama speak. (As well as a bunch of other awesome people, including Eve Ensler who was just sick last year.)
Thanks, faulty brain. Now I get to be excited about this all over again.

thehighshelf: This is the discussion I had with my pro sex friends who couldn’t figure out why awesome librarians were “banning” porn. It’s the conversation that made them realize what we were on about:
Porn consumption is normal.
Porn consumption foisted on others without their consent is sexual harassment at least.
“Well, of course people are going to show up at your job and masturbate against your wishes, that’s freedom!” Um, no.
The place I volunteer with in downtown LA (HI PAWS!) takes me right through the fashion district, which is nice since I like to temper my do-gooding with a little shallow materialism.
I read about them in a weekly and felt really cool when a guy I liked brought them up. Years later, still love them.I know that starting over is not what life’s about.
But my thoughts were so loud I couldn’t hear my mouth.Did you guys also forget how good Modest Mouse is?
